Total Aquatic Programming

TAP Services 2026 – 2027

Total Aquatic Programming's consulting services for the people who build, run, and save community pools — with pricing. Programming precedes design.

Saving Pools, Saves Lives
01

Build it right

Prevent the unexpected renovation. Programming precedes design, so the water you build matches the business that has to pay for it.

02

Run it sustainably

Fix the income and expense problem. Membership, pathways, retention, and trained staff turn a pool into a self-sustaining community health service.

03

Make the case

Give boards, funders, and communities the evidence and the partners to keep pools open — and to count what is lost when they close.

Is your pool at risk? Contact Sue Nelson at snelson@totalaquatic.llc to find out whether your pool or aquatic center is at risk of closure — and which program is the right first step.

Custom On-Site Build & Program a Pool Workshop

The in-person workshop without the travel

For committees and task forces that want the in-person workshop without the travel. TAP conducts the full two-day workshop at your location, tailored to your facility goals, community demographics, and operational challenges.

What you work through
  • 2 consecutive days, any Monday through Sunday
  • Your entire committee, task force, and community advocates — past workshops have hosted up to 40 participants
  • The TAP team on site, answering questions in real time with 35+ years of combined experience
  • Dream Team Partner literature at the partners table
Best for: Sending two people to a national workshop runs about $4,340 in airfare, lodging, meals, and registration — and those two then relay everything to the rest of the committee. For slightly more, the whole team hears it first-hand and leaves on the same page from day one.
Standard
per workshop
$7,900
  • Any community, agency, or organization. All-inclusive — no material charges added. Some locations may carry a higher travel cost.
Qualifying Organizations
per workshop
$6,900
  • Projects involving USA Swimming clubs, LSCs, ASCA coaches, or other qualifying aquatic organizations. Save $1,000.

Owner's Advocate Service

TAP in your corner from concept through opening and into operations

A subscription for owners and project teams who want project-specific guidance beyond the workshop, and the primary point of entry to the Aquatic Health Club Model.

What it includes
  • The STAY ON TRACK Roadmap, tailored to your stage — concept, schematic design, fundraising, pre-construction, or operational reset
  • An owner's advocate at the table when architects, engineers, builders, and vendors present options — translating facility decisions into operating consequences
  • Review of program mix, schedule logic, staffing assumptions, and cost-recovery projections as the design evolves
  • Dream Team Partner referrals, plus TAP's operating standards, maintenance planning, and lifecycle budgeting tools
Best for: New builds, major renovations and expansions, and existing facilities doing a full program reset. Subscribing satisfies the first requirement for an official Aquatic Health Club Model designation.

Enterprise Plan (Feasibility-Lite)

A facility-specific business plan built on TAP's 3D Method

A facility-specific business plan built on TAP's 3D Method — Design, Develop, Deliver and its pillars of People, Performance, and Purpose. It turns a proposed or existing aquatic center into a documented operating business a board, lender, or council can act on.

What it includes
  • Program model across the 4 Pillars, sized to the community and the water available
  • Weekly schedule logic with prime-time protection and utilization targets
  • Staffing plan, certifications required, and training pathway
  • Revenue projections by program line, membership and pass structures, cost-recovery targets
  • Operating expense budget including maintenance and lifecycle replacement
  • Recommended Dream Team Partner products and services for the facility
Best for: Facilities seeking funding or approvals, operators preparing an opening-year budget, and existing centers moving to the Aquatic Health Club Model.

Continuing Education for Swim Programs and Aquatic Centers

Coach development isn't separate from operations — it is operations

TAP's annual continuing education program takes swim programs past the compliance floor (CPR, first aid, background checks, governing-body updates) into the craft that drives retention, performance, and business stability.

What you work through
  • Stroke teaching and training design
  • Dryland integration
  • Communication and culture-building
  • Parent management
  • Staff leadership and the business of coaching — contracts, expectations, pay structures, career pathways
How it is delivered: a plan fitted to your staff size, pool time, competition calendar, and budget — starting with one question: what are your coaches expected to perform, and where are you relying on hope rather than training?
Payment Terms
  • Workshop payment is due at registration; tier pricing is set by the date payment is received.
  • Custom workshop fees are all-inclusive — no material charges added. Some locations may carry a higher travel cost.
  • TAP services are invoiced. Pay by check, ACH, or card — payment details are included on your invoice.
  • All prices are held at 2026 levels for 2027.
  • Checks are payable to Total Aquatic Programming, LLC, 3843 Springs Ranch Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80922.
